Project Overview:

We were commissioned by our customer to assist with the specification, supply and installation of automatic door entry systems at a specialist medical centre in Stratford, London. The brief required simple, reliable functionality with infection control at the forefront, along with long-term durability given the restricted maintenance windows within the facility. This phase of the project formed a key part of a wider upgrade programme across multiple floors.

Features

  • Part of a larger automatic door project delivered across several areas of the medical centre
  • Installation of 8 single direction sliding automatic door systems complete with safety accessories to protect users
  • Optimised opening and closing speeds paired with advanced sensor technology to minimise unnecessary air exchange, improving energy efficiency, and helping maintain controlled temperatures within theatre environments
  • Touchless and microbial-resistant activation pads supporting strict infection-control requirements
  • Whisper-quiet engineered systems to minimise noise disruption — a critical requirement for the client

Challenges

During testing, the client reported that certain push pads were intermittently activating multiple doors. After working closely with the manufacturer, we identified the issue as a radio-frequency crossover between specific pads and receivers. To resolve this, we carried out a full factory reset of all receivers and calibrated each one individually. This ensured clean, isolated communication, and restored correct operation across the system.

Outcome

We completed this phase of the project within the agreed timelines, with all documentation compiled and ready for handover to the end user.

Six months after completion, we conducted a courtesy visit to perform a full health check and discuss the systems’ performance with theatre staff in a live operational setting.

Our attention to detail and expertise throughout the process ensured a smooth delivery, resulting in a satisfied client and hassle-free operation for end users
